Fundraising in memory of Barbara Serafin
In addition to our event on January 17th, join our fundraising efforts in support of Doylestown Health's Memory Café. All donations are greatly appreciated and will make a difference in the lives of patients and families in the community.
A message from Barbara's daughter, Denise -
Join us in celebrating an amazing woman, my mom! On January 10, 2017, I lost my mom, Barbara Serafin, to Alzheimer's. What I would give to have one more hug, one more phone call, one more laugh - it is a terrible disease. It's often said when you love a person with Alzheimer's, you lose them twice: once when they don't remember who they are or who you are, and a second time when they pass away.
Doylestown Health's Memory Cafe -
Doylestown Health hosts a monthly Memory Cafés to provide respite and opportunity for those living with the disease and their caregivers. Held at Doylestown YMCA each month, Doylestown Health's Memory Cafés are designed to support those living with Dementia and their loved ones. These efforts allow Doylestown Health to bring awareness to all types of Dementia through education and community outreach to enhance the lives of those affected by this disease.
Each Memory Café event features activities that those with dementia and their care partners can do together, including yoga, music, art and dance. As a part of Doylestown Health's Dementia Aware Initiative, the Memory Café is a support space for people and families to ensure they know they are not alone.
